about.the.deviantI am a journalism and photography student, currently residing in Canada's capital; Ottawa, Ontario.
I am also founder of Changing L.A.N.E.S.™, a creative conceptual brought into existence on November 8, 2004. Changing L.A.N.E.S.™ is an acronym for Changing Like A Neverending Story. While likely to be confused with a book or film [or two] of similar title, and the preface perhaps revealing similarities, please don't misinterpret the context; it is as simple and as complicated as it's idealistic presentation for change. I try to reflect this concept in every facet of creativity my heart and mind can imagine and muster, in the hopes that I may likewise effect this perspective in the lives of my family, my friends, and the many others around me; to share my world, such as it is.
Being an amateur journalist and photographer, I am, and will always be, learning. As I explore my world through writing and photography, and attempt to present it capably through various stories and many genres of imagery, I seek naturally, and with aspiration to someday become a learned, perhaps even [dare it be said] talented, photo journalist.
While mindful of the daily tasks involved to reach this goal, and with respect for what my pursuit may someday accomplish, I cannot possibly know if the dream will be fulfilled, but I do know that it is the journey which is most-important...and one day, perhaps these photographs, and the words I write about them, will be the fruits of that labor, and the very accomplishment I sought the whole while, to achieve. One can only hope, and just keep on clicking, writing, and changing...like a neverending story.

Please note...
It would be a perfect world indeed, in which I could offer freebie shoots all the time, to all who would ask. But we're not living in that world. Come back to planet Earth, pal. On my turf, time and gear doesn't come so cheap, and I can't support every jock on the block or model wannabe who pm's me for photo shoots. I shouldn't be expected to. No offense. It's bills before skills, and that's the honest truth. So if you are able, improve the odds a little, and show me the money! A little goes a long way; anything you can manage really (even if just the promise of lunch on the house) is an effort noticed, and appreciated!
So basically, help me help you. I may negotiate fees or offer time-for-print sessions, depending on our respective goals and constraints. If you have a really great project idea but limited funds, and/or I want new material for my portfolio, and you fit my needs, for example. I'm a charitable guy, and there is always an angle. But please don't take it for granted. These are often spur-of-the-moment decisions, usually on a project-to-project basis, and definitely limited to my sole discretion. Please present your case, and we will see what we can work out. Thanks.
